2013 winner of the Robert J. Collier Trophy

In a completely unsurprising choice, the X-47B won the Robert J. Collier Trophy for 2013 for “developing and demonstrating the first unmanned, autonomous air system operating from an aircraft carrier.”

Stephen Pope of Flying notes that this year’s award confirms the ascendancy of unmanned programs at the cutting edge of aerospace technology.
